And the base Giulia will be R550 000 and have 203 KW.
We’ve been waiting for Alfa Romeo to return in earnest to South Africa with a Super car for what feels like an eternity. Yes, they sent a few of the 8C Competizione here a couple years back, and you can now buy the 4C, but neither one of those cars are a volume proposition.
The Giulia totally changes that. And it’s the first car Alfa is bringing to the SA that is actually an Alfa Romeo.
What I mean by that is Alfa isn’t known for making supercars or hard-core mid-engined sports cars. The bread and butter for all of these years has been sedans and two-plus-two coupes.? It’s what made the brand. Cars like the Giulia and Berlina are what Alfa is known for.
This Giulia is a return to Alfa’s history of driver’s sedans. And it sounds like it’s seriously amazing.
It has 375Kws and 650NM of torque from its 3.0-liter turbo V6 that Alfa says is “Ferrari-derived,” which we already know screams. It weighs 1.6tons and runs a 7:39 around the Nurburgring, which makes it the fastest sedan to ever go around the track by a staggering 13 seconds. It’s one second faster than a Porsche 911 GT3.
