Toyota Land Cruiser 300
Probably considered the best in its class the Toyota Land Cruiser 300 has arrived on our shores. It’s been 14 years since the model has had a design change resulting in the all-new designed LC300 representing the new age of Land Cruisers.
The 300 has certainly moved forward from the 200 in style terms with the front façade featuring a large and prominent radiator grille with sculptured rectangular headlamps on each side. While the unmistakable box-look remains the 300 has greater dynamic presence with a sense of agility. The immediately recognisable signature “channel” down the centre of the bonnet, rear large trapezoidal taillamps and large Land Cruiser lettering and the Toyota Insignia all filter through from the previous design.
With the 300 carrying the reputation of the flagship of the Toyota SUV range the model features an all-new TNGA (Toyota New Global Architecture) platform the first ladder-frame execution of this format.
New engine line-up powers the newcomer providing a choice of a 3.5- litre V6 Twin Turbo petrol engine or 3.3-litre V6 Turbodiesel. Both engines replace the outgoing V8 and deliver increased efficiency, improved torque, and elevated levels of refinement.
The 3.3 V6 Diesel produces 225kW @ 4000 rpm with an incredible 700Nm available between 1 600 and 2 600 rpm.
The petrol V6 offers 305kW @ 5 200 rpm and 650Nm from 2 000 rpm. This engine uses the D-4ST injection system, quick response Dual VVT-I system and low-inertia turbochargers to achieve an ultra-smooth power delivery. Top speed of 210 km/h for both variants mated to a new slick-shifting 10-speed automatic transmission with low range and diff-lock functionality.
Fuel consumption of 12.1 l/100km for petrol and 8.9 l/100km for the diesel with CO2 emissions at 291 and 238 respectively.
New grades of models are also introduced at this time namely the GX-R, ZX and GR-S. The entry level is served by the GX-R and the top end luxury the ZX. A GR-Sport will also be offered to serve the off-road market with features such as rugged 18’ alloy wheels, bespoke exterior styling and trim and off-road biased specifications.
The ZX has 20’ alloys, chrome detail and luxury-orientated interior trim.
As expected, the LC300 boasts a comprehensive specification level.

The GX-R is available in two textile interior trims while the ZX has three luxurious leather-appointed interior trims in Black, Black and dark red or Black and Neutral Beige.
