The RS versions of Audi models already have plenty street cred when it comes to power and performance. Soon to be released in South Africa, the RS 6 Avant and RS 7 Sportback are even more powerful, faster, and bursting with equipment and improved aggressive appearance.
4.0-litre V8 biturbo TFSI engine producing 22 kW more at 463kW and a maximum torque of 850Nm which is an increase of 50Nm than the previous model. Hold on as it sprints from 0-100km/h in a mere 3.4 seconds, 0.2 seconds faster than before. Eight-speed Tiptronic gearbox with faster shifting times and the overall reduction of vehicle weight by 8 kgs contribute to the improved performance.

Exclusive high performance 22-inch matte titanium grey diamond turned wheels are also available in burnished glossy metallic black, matte black or matte neodymium gold. 5-Y spoke design aids brake cooling and the lighter rims are manufactured in a high-tech forging-milling process. The new lightweight wheel is around 5 kgs lighter than the 22-inch aluminum wheel currently on the RS6 and RS 7. The 20 kg weight reduction in unsprung masses improves the throttle response. High performance Continental “Sport Contact 7” 285/30 tyres offer consistently better grip on both wet and dry roads and help to reduce understeering when cornering at speed. The new wheels also reduce the brake path by two meters when braking from 100-0 km/h.
The Audi drive select dynamic handling system lets the driver control the vehicles character, six profiles are available: efficient, comfort, auto, dynamic as well as two customizable RS-specific RS1 and RS2 modes.
Both Avant and Sportback models are available in a total of 16 exterior colours, for the first time metallic and matte Ascari Blue and matte Dew Silver are included. The exterior mirrors, front spoiler, front side flaps, side sill inserts, roof rails and the trim on the side windows and rear diffuser all stand out in a matte grey. Audi rings and model name can be finished in a choice of chrome or black.
Inside the design packages in grey and red have been expanded to include the blue colour. Steering wheel rim in Alcantra black features contrasting stitching in Mercato blue whilst the floor mats, side of centre console and the selector lever cuff also come with a blue contrasting stitching. Seat belts are full-surface ocean blue with decorative inlays in a carbon twill structure with blue accents. Customers can order the design packages in three available colour variants.

12.3 – inch Audi virtual cockpit plus offer new features including a blinking shift indicator in manual transmission mode which changes the rpm display from green to yellow to red blinking in a manner identical to that used in motorsport, to indicate the optimal time to change gears.
