The first quarter of 2021 will see the South African launch of the new Lexus IS.
The local line-up of the re-styled Lexus IS sports sedan will comprise three model derivatives, all projecting new levels of design, luxury, imaginative technology and leading driving dynamics. The new innovated design projects a very sporty style. The Spindle Grille features a three-dimensional structure that originates from the foremost tip of the grille, combining with a mesh pattern to achieve a sporty impression.
Two models feature as standard 18-inch alloy wheels replacing the 17-inch on previous models. The top of the range will boast 19-inch aluminium wheels and an electric park-brake which is an upgrade from the old foot-operated park brake. Other noticeable features include smart entry and start, heated power adjustable front seats, all-speed active cruise control, lane tracing assist, and LED headlamps with automatic high beam for the top of the range models. The new multimedia system comprises 10 and 17-speaker audios linked to a 10.3-inch touchscreen with Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, and EMV navigation.
Lighter suspension components, a wider front and rear track, enhanced body rigidity all come together as the first Lexus tuned at the company’s new purpose- built “Mini Nürburgring” test facility in Shimoyama, Japan. For more intuitive response and engaged driver performance the Lexus IS will include a returned 2.5-litre engine paired with the Hybrid-electric system. Lexus will announce the Lexus IS spec details and retail prices before the official launch early in 2021. Lexus industry leading seven-year warranty and maintenance plan will come as standard with all IS models.
