KYALAMI, JOHANNESBURG – Mercedes-AMG enthusiasts are to witness and experience the culmination of 50 years of driving performance at the third SA Festival of Motoring at the Kyalami racetrack.
“Driving Performance is the Mercedes-AMG brand promise to ensure that every Mercedes-AMG is a complete composition, uncompromisingly tailored to performance and dynamism right down to the finest details. We do this to achieve the Mercedes-AMG brand’s defining features which are superior performance; the distinctive sound, or the AMG growl as we refer to it; and the expressive design,” says Johannes Fritz, Co-CEO of Mercedes-Benz South Africa and Executive Director of Mercedes-Benz Cars.
A common trait of all Mercedes-AMG vehicles regardless of the model, are the seven performance components developed entirely by AMG in Affalterbach – the Home of Driving Performance. These components can be categorised as: the AMG engines, transmissions, suspensions, drive concepts, brake systems, exhaust systems and AMG DYNAMIC SELECT.
“Put simply, every Mercedes-AMG model contains precisely these seven ingredients which are present in varying doses according to the given performance recipe. This year, we have just the right collection of AMG vehicles at the festival to whet your appetite,” says Fritz.
Mercedes-Benz South Africa’s collection includes an exclusive preview of the newest members of the Mercedes-AMG family the GT 63 S 4-door Coupé, the new G 63, the new E 53 Coupé, and the C 43 Cabriolet — all of which are making their first appearance in South Africa.
“The preview of models such as the new GT 63 S 4-door Coupé, with its unique athletic design in a four-door fastback layout, and the authentically reinterpreted icon, the new G 63, give the market a taste of what’s to come. South Africans are enthralled by the Mercedes-AMG brand and we look forward to deepening that brand love further through the AMG Performance tour,” says Selvin Govender, Marketing Director of Mercedes-Benz Cars South Africa.
