Over the past decade the Suzuki Auto company has consistently made year on year progression into the South African market. If you just look at the top three best-selling manufacturers in SA for last month, December 2022, you may be surprised to realise…………….
No 1: Toyota 11 250 units sold
N0 2: Volkswagen 5 331 units sold
No 3: Suzuki 3 058 units sold
(It is also interesting to note BMW or Mercedes do not feature anywhere in the top ten for December 2022.)
Back to Suzuki and I am amazed by how many models they have on offer and by how many I see on our roads every day. The little 4×4 Jimny is extremely popular along with the Vitara and Brezza in the SUV line-up. Just to add some more excitement Suzuki is now introducing the “FRONX” to join the growing SUV range. Launched at the Auto Expo in India on Thursday 12th January 2023, and confirmed for the South African market very soon.
Recognisable front grille with the dominate Suzuki badge just under the bonnet. LED headlights and LED taillamps connected by an unbroken LED lightbar that stretches across the tailgate. Large wheels, new exterior colours and crystal-inspired daytime running lights finish off the appealing design.
Inside the cabin is equipped with a large, high-definition touch screen that offers over 40 connected vehicle functions and high gloss metal highlights.
The Fronx shares its platform with the new Swift and Baleno while suspension and steering are geared towards customers who prefer an engaging exhilarating drive. Engines and pricing will be made available closer to launch time, but indications are the Fronx will slot in retail price wise just below the Vitara. This will also be the first Suzuki model to offer the option of a hybrid petrol powertrain
