Fans of the Swedish luxury car brand Volvo will be pleased to hear the MY22 Volvo XC60 is coming to South Africa. Volvo says the infotainment system makes this the best-seller smarter than ever before. This next-generation system offers unprecedented personalisation and unparalleled connectivity running Google Maps, Google Play, and hands-free Google Assistant. The Google Assistant allows the driver to use their voice to control the air temperature, set a destination, play music, send messages all while keeping hands on the wheel. The system stays up to date with maintenance and new features with updates over-the-air.
Exterior changes include new grille, new front bumpers, new exterior colours, and wheel options. The interior materials used are also new including luxurious leather-free options and City Weave textile upholstery. Safety upgrades comprise of Advanced Driver Assistance System consisting of an array of radars, cameras, and ultrasonic sensors. Automatic Braking and Collision Avoidance are two other safety systems now available.
The CX60 has been Volvo’s top selling model since 2009. By 2020 it had
reached 1.68 million units sold worldwide. In 2020 alone the XC60 sold
200 000 global unit sales. In SA it is also Volvo’s best-seller.
