The B-SUV Segment in South Africa contains Urban Compact SUV’s and is one of the most active and burgeoning segments amongst the many Auto categories. Built in Anantapur in India the new Kia Sonet is one of the vehicles of choice in this segment. The new Sonet has been re-developed and engineered from the ground up and has been designed as the compact SUV which ticks all the boxes offering many features and remaining value for money. Engineers from India and South Korea have tested the new Sonet covering over 100 000km across diverse driving terrain, situations and climatic conditions. The result is a world-leading quality vehicle offering convenience, comfort, safety and driving pleasure.

From a design and style angle the Sonet has a fresh new signature “tiger-nose grille” with a stylish front skid plate underneath. Sporty silhouette is enhanced by the unique design and structure of the C-pillars, matched with a wrap-around rear windscreen. The profile has a sharp sporty character thanks to the shape of the bonnet and bumpers, with strong A-pillars and rounded roofline. One of the largest in its class, 4,120mm long and wheelbase of 2,500mm, ensures there is more than enough space for all occupants. Available in seven exterior colours, Glacier White, Steel Silver, Gravity Grey, Aurora Black, Beige Gold, Intense Red and Intelligency Blue.

Customers can also have a choice of four two-tone exterior colours, Glacier White and Intense Red with a black roof, or Gravity Grey and Intelligency Blue with a white roof. Inside on the dash is an 8-inch HD touchscreen infotainment system which incorporates a reverse camera with dynamic guidelines as standard. Voice-control technology, Apple CarPlay, Android Auto functionality provide drivers with crucial safety advantage of hands-free connectivity. Lots of leg room, head room and shoulder room and ample luggage space measuring 392 litres. Powered by Kia’s fuel-efficient 1.5 litre MPI petrol engine producing 85kW at 6,300 rpm and 144 Nm of torque at 4,500 rpm. Buyers can have a 6-speed manual gearbox or continuously variable transmission (CVT). Two trim levels are also available.
