The new Jaguar E-Pace with feature enhancements, improved exterior and more powerful engines arrives in SA.
So, what is the difference from the outside. A new mesh grille design with diamond detailing and the Jaguar heritage logo featuring Noble Chrome finish. New side fender vents with the iconic Leaper emblem and new front all-LED headlights with Double J Daytime Running lights. Rear bumper features a mesh insert sitting between the integrated tail pipes that are standard with four-cylinder petrol engines. The R-Dynamic trim has additional black Exterior Pack, which delivers an even more dynamic appearance with bespoke elements finished in Narvik black.
Inside changes start with a 11.4 – inch curved-glass HD touch-screen at the centre of the dash which controls the infotainment system. The glass has two coatings, one for anti-glare and the other to resist fingerprints. Larger stowage area and a 15W wireless charger are improvements along with the Drive Selector which is lower and wider with the upper section finished with cricket-ball stitching. A new steering wheel with hidden-until-lit switches and metal gearshift paddles. Buyers can choose from four engine options. An advanced 1.5 litre three-cylinder petrol engine is the latest member of the engine family and is available in the E-Pace with plug-in hybrid technology. 33kg weight saving from the four-cylinder lightweight aluminium delivers strong performance and excellent fuel efficiency and consumption.
The P300e PHEV combines the 147kW 1.5 litre three-cylinder Ingenium petrol engine and an 80kW Electric Rear Axle Drive motor to deliver a combined
227kW/540Nm and 0-100km in 6.5 seconds. Low CO2 emissions and fuel economy of 2.0 l/100km. The 15kWh lithium-ion battery is housed under the floor and when fully charged provides 55km of all-electric range. 2.0 litre four-cylinder diesel and 2.0litre four-cylinder petrol engines paired with AWD and nine speed automatic transmission is also available. The P250 version achieves 184kW/365Nm accelerating 0-100km in 7.5 seconds. The P300 only available in the E-Pace Sport delivers 221kW/400Nm and 0-100km in 6.9 seconds with a maximum speed of 241km/h.
The new E-Pace 300 Sport is available in all exterior colours and features 20-inch five-spoke Diamond-turned with black accent wheels. Ebony Suedecloth headlining and Taurus Sport seats in Ebony assist in keeping the 300 Sport apart. A host of tech features include Navigation, mobile calls hands free system, 12.3-inch drivers display, Cabin Air Ioniser, Active Key to lock and unlock and start the vehicle. 3D Surround Cameras offer real time viewing including Junction View.
