New Volkswagen T-Roc available in South Africa. (Spec and Pricing)

From July 2022 the all new VW T-Roc will be made available to South African buyers. This model is positioned between the Taigo and Tiguan in the Volkswagen T SUV line-up. Projecting a solid German build, the new T-Roc features a fresh exterior design with up-graded interior using high quality materials and a soft touch dash surface. 

Since first launched to the South African market the T-Roc has sold 4,490 units providing Volkswagen with the confidence to upgrade the model and continue with positive sales. The exterior design has been sharpened making its unmistakable crossover design more striking. LED headlights and darkened rear lights are included as standard, and the illuminated radiator grille strip and dynamic turn signals are available as an option. Five new exterior paint colours which can be combined with a white, black or indium grey roof compliment the new 17 and 19-inch alloy wheels. 

Inside a soft touch dash surface brings a modern and top-quality design to the new interior. 8.0-inch infotainment display is designed like a tablet and is positioned on the dash panel in line of sight with the instrument cluster behind the steering wheel. As standard the new T-Roc comes with the Digital Cockpit instrument cluster in the Design equipment line and the Digital Cockpit Pro in the R-Line equipment line. Multi-function steering wheel is also a standard feature.

Two equipment lines are available, the Design and top-of-the-range R-Line. The Design has door trim and arm rests made of leather with ArtVelour seats. (As an option the buyer can request Vienna leather seats). The R-Line also has leather door trims and arm rests along with full Nappa leather upholstery seats for both front and rear passengers. 

The Design equipment line is available in the 1.4 TSI and the 2.0 TSI offered in two-tone paintwork, chrome elements, background interior lighting and convenience seats. LED headlights, leather -wrapped steering wheel with paddle shift, Adaptive Cruise Control, High-Beam control light Assist, Autonomous Emergency Braking with front Assist and multi-coloured Digital Cockpit. Some more standard features on the Design are Comfort Package with keyless entry, 17-inch Johannesburg alloy wheels, Park Assist and Park Distance Control and silver anodised roof rails. If you still require some more features then as an option you can add the tilting and sliding panoramic sunroof, Black Style Exterior Package with 18-inch Grange Hill black alloy wheels, navigation system, Wireless App Connect, Rear View camera, Black roof rails or power mirror switch. 

On the R-Line equipment version the buyer gets all the standard features on the Design line with many others added as standard. Then you can further customise the R-Line by adding Black-style interior, 19-inch Misano alloy wheels, Cruise Control with speed limiter and Proactive passenger protection system for front Assist and side Assist. 

The entry level engine in the range is the 1.4 TSI with maximum output of 110kW and 250Nm of torque. It is coupled with an 8-speed Triptronic transmission with a top speed of 205km/h and fuel consumption of 6.3l/100km, taking 8.4 seconds to reach 100 km/h. 

The second engine available is the 2.0 TSI with 140kW of power and 320Nm of torque. This time the 4MOTION is coupled with a 7-speed DSG transmission and takes just 7.2 seconds to reach 100 km/h and top-speed of 216km/h. The fuel consumption increases to 7.3l/100km.

The Volkswagen T-Roc comes standard with a 3 year/120 000km warranty, 5 year/ 90 000km EasyDrive Service Plan and a 12-year anti-corrosion warranty. The service interval is 15 000km. Customers have the option to extend EasyDrive Maintenance and EasyDrive Service Plans up to 10 years/ 300 000km.
