New Audi A4(2020) Price and Spec

Most car manufactures produce a core model in their range which is designed to offer a vehicle for both family use, and business use, and sell in volume. In the case of Audi that model is the Audi A4 which has recently been upgraded making it even more sporty and adding cutting edge technology. The midsized model now looks even more dynamic and sophisticated thanks to its sporty design.

The easily recognisable Audi front grille is now broader and flatter, with horizontal lines emphasizing the width at the front and the rear. From the side distinctive muscles above the fenders with lower set shoulders line in between. LED headlights are now standard with the 35TFSI featuring low beam, high beam and daytime running lights in LED technology. Top of the range Matrix LED headlights with fully automatic high beam is also available as an option. Customers can choose from 12 paint colours including a new Terra Grey colour option.

17’ wheels are standard on entry trimline and 18’ as standard on Advanced and S-line trims. As a further option 19’ is available and on the S4 the 19’ wheels are offered in a choice from 3 designs. Inside seating is available in leather/leatherette colour combinations with the S- line offering fine Nappa leather with S embossing.

Technology has certainly been improved significantly with the package covering.

Audi will be offering the A4 model line in three turbocharge engines in South Africa. Their power outputs range from 110 kW to 260 kW- from the Audi A4 35 TFSI up to the Audi S4 TFSI. For the October 2020 launch two engine variants will feature a mild-hybrid system based on 12 volts, which reduces fuel consumption while improving comfort. (Models A4 TFSI and 40 TFSI) In everyday use the MHEV system reduces fuel consumption by up to 0.3 litres per 100kms. All models come off the production line with automatic transmission as standard.

The range is expected to include a diesel engine in the first quarter of 2021. The top of the range Audi S4 is worth a special mention as it combines sports car performance with good levels of efficiency and impresses with high power, ample torque, spontaneous response and a sonorous sound. The turbocharging engine has output of 260kW and hefty torque of 500 Nm from 1,370 to 4,500 rmp. The V6 turbo accelerates from 0 – 100km/hr in 4.7 seconds and up to an electronically governed top speed of 250km/hr. 8-speed transmission, quattro permanent all- wheel drive assists sporty handling.

All models come standard with the 5-year/100 000km Audi freeway plan inclusive of all taxes. The Audi A4 range is currently available in South Africa
