Mercedes Benz has a history of introducing innovative technology into its flagship S-Class then later rolling down this Tech to its E-Class, C-Class, and other ranges. This philosophy has always elevated the S-Class to play a significant role in the development of Mercedes Benz over the past twenty years.
In 1971 the 300 SEL 6.8 AMG was launched and today the new AMG S 63 E PERFORMANCE with hybrid technology has once again set the benchmark in the segment. This model combines the AMG 4.0 – litre V8 biturbo engine with the AMG – specific hybrid powertrain and a new high performance battery the HPB increasing kWh from 6.1 in the previous HPB 80 to 13.1 in the HPB 150 and increasing range by thirty-three kilometres.
The V8 engine sits at the front and the electric motor at the rear axle providing a 590 kW system output. Accelerating from 0 – 100km/h in a remarkable 3.3 seconds and reaching a top speed of 290 km/h. To contribute to the safety driving systems such as the AMG RIDE-CONTROL+ suspension, AMG ACTIVE RIDE CONTROL roll stabilisation and rear-axle steering as standard ensure safe driving for both dynamics and comfort.
The E PERFORMANC technology is a first for a luxury saloon so perfectly combining best-in-class performance with luxury and superior comfort. The exterior styling flaunts confidence with the large radiator grille bearing the AMG emblem in silver chrome/black. Jet-wing design front apron and large side air inlets completes the front view. 21-inch AMG forged wheels and fluted twin tailpipes all contribute to the class of the AMG.
Inside the cabin, special AMG upholstery is used in exclusive colours of nappa leather along with distinctive refined stitching. Embossed AMG emblem on the front headrests emphasises the sporty luxurious side on this S-Class.
Technology is in abundance with MBUX infotainment system including AMG hybrid displays, high quality graphics in multimedia display, Dolby Atmos sound takes interior sound to a new level. AMG performance steering wheel, integrated seamless gearshift and many modes the driver can control without hands leaving the steering wheel.
