The Nissan Terrano, which is based on the Renault Duster, has done quite well for Nissan. It looks better and has a more premium and luxurious feel to it. The Terrano got the ball rolling for Nissan, as their sales charts soared. To commemorate the success of this premium compact SUV, Nissan has launched the anniversary addition with some mouth watering, first in class features.
The Terrano Special Edition will sell in two models, XVD THP and XVD THP Premium. The models are available in the diesel version only.
On the outside, the special edition gets a blacked out roof along with two black stripes running down the bonnet. The pillars have been blackened as well. The rear gets a tiny spoiler, which does add more appeal to the overall design. The blacked parts help break the monotony of the overall design and it does add a lot of sportiness to the compact SUV. The Terrano is a very accomplished vehicle. There are side-steps that come as an added accessory. The interior design is very good and the build quality is very good indeed.
Thus, Nissan has not made any changes to the overall design. However, the good news is that the limited edition ships with a host of new equipment. The steering wheel and the gear lever have been wrapped in leather. A first in class feature is the heads-up display which is a very enticing feature indeed. The Premium edition gets a leather treatment along with a zebra wood finish at the frint and the rear. This is a very good addition as it has added to the overall premium feel of the car. It also comes with rear parking sensors, which have increased it’s practicality.
No mechanical changes have been carried out as the car will ship with the same 1.5 litre diesel which produces 110ps of power. The motor is a very potent one and it imparts a very pleasurable driving experience. The car will come in 5 paint shades, namely the Bronze Grey, Blade Silver, Fire Red, Sterling Grey and Pearl White. Nissan will produce only 450 units of the special edition vehicle. The car has been priced at Rs. 12.83 lakh for the XVD THP model and Rs. 13.13 lakhs for the XVD THP Premium. The car has some useful additions and the new tweaked design does make it stand apart. Nissan has launched a pretty good update which will surely revitalize the appeal of this compact SUV in the market.
