In the South African SUV market, the Toyota Fortuner is the best-selling and most popular vehicle to be purchased every month. Out-selling its competitors by a significant margin month after month, Toyota keeps the Fortuner relevant by responding to customers needs and evolving the product in a quest to produce even-better automobiles for their customers.
Going forward the following specification enhancements and adaptions have been incorporated into the range and available to the South African buyers.
2.8 models receive an upgrade to dual-zone climate control while the VX grade inherits a Panoramic View Monitor with selectable view, and an upgrade to the 11-speaker JBL Premium Audio System. As per the trend, the on-board navigation system has been taken away and replaced with smartphone apps via Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.
Enhanced Smart Entry system is added and the VX variants receive Toyota Safety Senses in the form of Blind-spot Monitoring and Rear Cross Traffic Alert.
While the 2.4 and 2.8 models have no change to the seven colour choices offered the VX models have the Pearl White option replaced by the new Platinum White Pearl.
The power trains remain with the 2.4 GD-6 engine producing 110 kW and 400 Nm linked to a 6-speed manual transmission or a 6-speed auto gearbox. All 2.8 variants are paired exclusively with the self-shifter producing 150 kW and 500 Nm.
